AIDAVA’s 5th General Assembly sets priorities for the next phase
The AIDAVA consortium met online for its fifth General Assembly on April 14, 2025. It was an opportunity for partners to review progress across all work packages and set clear priorities for the months ahead.
Among topics discussed was the progress on the prototype frontend (user interface) where the team reported on development related to improvements on clearer, more accessible explanations designed for both patients and expert curators. On the backend of the prototype (AI curation tools supporting automation), significant progress was made around enhanced clinical language processing and expansion of tools dedicated to improving data quality, supporting entity linking and entity deduplication. Regulatory compliance and ethical oversight remain a priority, with the project staying aligned with the latest European standards such as the AI Act and the European Health Data Space Regulation. Communication and dissemination efforts are on track, with all publications available as open access. The project has also made strides in scientific publications and active engagement at key European events, ensuring that AIDAVA's results reach both the research community and the broader public. Also presented was a clear roadmap towards the next major milestone: the delivery of the second-generation prototype (G2) later this year.
Looking ahead, the consortium is getting ready for the next in-person General Assembly and the Sustainability Advisory Board meeting in Split, Croatia, scheduled for October 2025.
