AIDAVA publishes new analysis on EHDS readiness across Europe
The European Health Data Space (EHDS) is one of the most ambitious health data initiatives ever launched in Europe. From 2029 onwards, it will reshape how health data is used for care, research, innovation, and public policy. But ambition alone does not make infrastructure work.
Based on extensive analysis and real-world testing, the AIDAVA project has opened a new discussion on EHDS feasibility, examining what it really requires from hospitals, why data quality and interoperability remain unresolved challenges, why cost and digital maturity differ significantly across Member States, and why these gaps create a real risk of a digital health divide.
We have published a new EHDS hub page to bring these questions into the open, and to explore how an AI-maintained digital twin of patient health records could change the equation.
EHDS is not just regulation. It is infrastructure.
